Hints on Creating 3D Text Titles
You can use ImageForge PRO , ImageForge Master Edition and ImageForge GOLD to create text with a 3D appearance. You can use these images as titles on web pages, in illustrations, etc.
Extruded Text Methods
Here are ways to easily create 3 different effects:
- Simple Text Extrusion
- Select the normal Text tool (red "A") from the tool bar;

- Click on your image in the location where you wish the text to appear and start typing;
- Before doing anything else, click the Paragraph Text option in the tool options bar;

- Enable the Extrude Text option;

- Click OK to go back to the editing screen. You may adjust the direction of the extruded portion by using the arrow buttons next to the Paragraph Text button.

- Lighted 3D Text
- Click twice on the 3D Tools icon and select the 3D Text tool;

- Click the tool on the location where you wish the text to begin;
- Type your title into the 3D Text field. You may need to scroll to the portion of the preview screen which contains the text (this has the same dimensions as your image);
- Adjust the positioning and lighting controls until your text appears as you wish.

Note that if you change the Depth of the object, you may need to click the Preview icon (an extruded "A") next to this field to refresh the display; - Click OK to place the title into your picture.

- Pillowed Text
- Click twice on the Text tool and select the Polygon Text tool;
- Click the tool on the location where you wish the text to start;
- Go to the Text Style option on the tool options bar, and select Contoured;

- Type your text.
Notes...
- It is usually best to work with 3D text on the Objects layer. This will allow you to more easily reposition the text after generating the 3D characteristics. Once you have created the final title and positioned it, just use the Merge icon to place it into the final image.
- You may also wish to experiment with applying some of the Effects filters to your text. For example, applying the Bump filter to "Contoured" text produced with the Polygon Text tool or gradient or textured text can produce interesting 3D results.
- You can add a texture to 3D text on the Objects layer by selecting the text, then going to the Effects menu, choosing Tile, and then Texture.

Then Merge the textured text into the image
