Q: On a couple of occasions, ImageForge has locked up. Sometimes I get an error message, sometimes I get kicked back to Windows. How can I prevent this? Would adding more memory help?
- You can get erratic behavior such as you describe when Windows is running low on System Resources. Windows allocates a finite number of System Resources internally, and each program running consumes some of these (as few as 3-4 graphic-intensive programs running can cause this under Windows 95/98). Adding memory will not help. You can increase the available resources by rebooting and then closing down some of the programs running in the background before running ImageForge. To see what is running in the background, press the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys simultaneously. You may find that Windows is automatically running many applications which you seldom or never use. You may wish to uninstall or disable some of these to prevent low System Resource problems.
