NT/2000 Compatibility and Other Enhancements
An upgraded version of our pc/Recall automation utility is now available. Version 3.6 is now available as a trial version. Those who have purchased a previous version may upgrade to 3.6 simply by downloading and running a free patch file. New features include:
- pc/Recall now runs on NT and Windows 2000 systems, as well as under Windows 95, 98 and ME.
- The new Password and Information Keeper feature lets you quickly paste information into dialog boxes, password fields, etc.
- New window position detection when taking a snapshot of the programs currently being run, makes it possible to relaunch the programs in the same locations on your screen.
- The paint program, which allows you to immediately edit screen images captured with pc/Recall, has been upgraded with a new look and features.
- Other Enhancements: bookmarks are easier to access (right-click), change Volumes directly from the menu, and other improvements.
pc/Recall is a powerful utility which sits either in your Windows task bar tray, or in a tiny rollup window which you can locate to any unused portion of your screen. With pc/Recall, you can take a "snapshot" of the programs which you are currently using. The "snapshot" may be stored as a bookmark for recall later, or may be set to automatically launch next time you start up your system.
pc/Recall also allows you to set applications to run automatically at preset days and times, even if you are away from your computer.
And pc/Recall is perfect for those computer tasks which require you to open several applications (e.g., to write letters to people who owe you money, you might need your accounting package, your calculator applet and your word processor). Instead of clicking on several icons or searching through lists of files, you can simply click on a single pc/Recall bookmark and load all your applications at once.
You can also custom-configure the command lines of applications (e.g., to launch a word processor or other program with a specific file preloaded) and store them, along with your "snapshots" in named volumes of "bookmarks." You can switch between bookmarks or volumes with a click of the mouse.
A Key-Stuffing feature allows you to send a sequence of keystrokes directly to applications being launched by pc/Recall. This handy new feature is great for automating those programs which require you to enter information when they start, or for unattended launching of applications which require user input (such as logging on to the internet).
Plus, pc/Recall is the handiest way to send the contents of your screen to the printer or to capture screen contents to an image file on your disk. It's new paint feature allows you to actually edit your screen capture, resize it, save it as a new file format, etc. You'll find yourself using the handy little paint program on its own to create or touch-up other images, too!
Once you've used pc/Recall, you may wonder how you ever got along without it!
