Options: Set Palette

An icon or cursor which has either a 16 or 256 color resolution may be assigned a palette of custom colors. The currently selected palette is displayed in the large grid at the right side of the Tool Bar. Note that this feature cannot be used with 2-color (black & white) images.

You may modify the palette for the current image by clicking on a color from the grid and then adjusting the Red, Green, Blue and Brightness sliders to produce the desired shade. Your changes will be reflected in the preview window below the sliders, as well as on the palette itself.

If you wish to produce a range of similar shades, click the
gradient button below the preview window.

Windows reserves for itself 16 standard colors. For compatibility across the widest range of Windows systems and screen resolutions, we recommend that you enable the Use Windows default 16-color palette checkbox when creating palettes for icons and cursors.

The Reset Palette  button restores the entire palette to its state before you began editing it.

The Reset Color  button restores the currently selected color to its state prior to your last edits.

The Load Palette  button allows you to load a previously Saved palette file, or to import a palette from a bitmap format image file. Note that palette files may also be imported from Paintshop-type palette files.

The Save Palette  button allows you to save your edited color palette as a file on your system.
