Editing Window:
Animation
This tab gives you the main painting surface used when creating an animation. Animated images consist of a series of images (called frames or cels) which give the illusion of motion when viewed in rapid succession. To create an animation, you simply paint a series of images. You can duplicate an image to the next frame and then change portions of the picture to produce the animated effect.
At the bottom of the window are controls for moving between or configuring frames in the animation.
Click on the parts of the image below to display each area's function.

Animation Window Controls
Editing a Frame
Use the tools from the toolbar to paint just as you would for a normal image. This includes placing items onto the Objects layer and merging objects and images with the controls found in the Composite layer.
Moving a Frame
To move a frame to a different position in the animation sequence, click on the Merge icon (the yellow diamond). The Merge function shows all of the frames as a series of thumbnails. Simply click on a frame and drag it to a new position.
Adding a Fixed Background
We recommend creating the background as a separate image. Save this image. You may then import the image into your animation frame(s) using the Composite tab's merge feature (or simply cut and paste from the original image). To restore parts of the background in an individual frame, simply use the Paint with Image tool to paint in the original background.
