How To: Create an Image Album, Slideshow or Screensaver
ImageForge contains features for creating your own programs in which to distribute your images. Your images may be distributed as individual files, in a viewer program (for previewing the images or creating a slide-show), or as a Windows screen saver.
To create an Image Library, use the Create Album or Slide Show function which is found under the Tools menu.
A window will be displayed which allows you to specify how your album will be configured.
Use the Image tab to designate the files to be included in the album or slide show.
The Installation Appearance tab gives you options for the setup program which will be created.
Click on the Image Viewer tab to enter your titles and copyright information and other options to be included in the viewer.
If you want the viewer to display images as a slide show, use the options under the Slide Show tab to specify how the images will be displayed.
You may also create a stand-alone program which may be run from a CD-ROM or DVD disc. You only need to place the viewer program and its associated .DLL files onto the CD/DVD. To do this, specify a Library File Size of 0. Use the Place All Images Within an Image Viewer Program option. Run the Setup program to extract the viewer program to a temporary folder. The CD should contain the viewer program's EXE file, plus the Crde96v31.dll and Ilanot32.dll files which were extracted. Do not place the Setup.exe or the other installation files (e.g., Setup.001).
Screen Savers
To create a screensaver:
1) Go to the Image Files tab, and use the "+" button to select the images you wish to use;
3) Checkmark the Place All Images Listed Above within a Windows Screen Saver option;
4) Go to the Image Viewer tab and assign a name to the screen saver using the Viewer File Name: field (note that the Installation File Name field under the Image Files tab is reserved for assigning a name to the setup program for your image album, slide show, etc.);
5) Go to the Slide Show tab to add transition effects between images, etc;
6) Once you have finished, click the Create button and the screen saver will be created;
7) You can either distribute the installation file program to others, or simply copy the .scr file you created to the "C:\Windows\System" folder for Windows 95, 98 or ME. For Windows NT4, 2000 and XP, copy the .scr file to the "C:\Windows\System32" folder. It will then appear in the list of screen savers in the Windows Control Panel's Display applet.
Copyrights
Image albums, slide shows and screensavers which you generate using ImageForge may be distributed to others without any royalty being due to CursorArts Company. Note, however, that you should be certain to obtain permission and pay any fees due before distributing images or other material which was created by someone else. CursorArts Company owns the copyright to the underlying Installation and ActivLibrary Viewer software. This will be noted in the program which is generated. CursorArts Company grants you a non-exclusive limited license to distribute the Installation and ActivLibrary Viewer software as part of your image collection. You may, however, claim copyright for the images or compilation of images and other files which you place into the software.
