How To: Distort Text
PRO version. To create distortable text, double-click on the Text tool and select the Polygon Text tool. Two new controls will be placed at the bottom of the editing window (see below).
Click the tool onto the portion of the screen which will contain the text.
If you wish to change the text size or font, click on the Text Options drop-down which is found on the Tool Options bar.
Type your text onto the screen.
To reposition a single letter within the line of text, click on a letter to move, then drag it to a new position. You may also move the text in single-pixel increments by clicking on the arrow pad on the tool options bar. You may enlarge or shrink the selected character using the up/down arrows on the arrow pad on the left side. You also may rotate individual characters using the left/right buttons on the same control pad.
To edit a single character, click on the Arrow Selector tool on the Tool Bar, then use the Arrow Selector to click on the character. Control points will be placed on the character. Simply use the Arrow Selector to drag the points to new positions.
To end the text editing session, simply select another tool.
Note: to preserve the text for future editing, type the text onto the Objects layer, where you can use the Save Object Edit menu command.
