Flood Fill Tools

Double-click to select the type of Fill tool to use:

Normal Flood Fill:  The flood tool may be used to fill a broad areas of one color with another color, pattern or gradient. Areas of color consist of pixels which directly adjoin other pixels of the same color along one of their sides. Pixels of the same color which merely adjoin at the corners are considered isolated and not to be in the same area, unless a path can be made between them through other adjoining pixels of the same color. You may flood fill using both the left and right mouse buttons, each of which may be a different color, or select a pattern or gradient Style from the Button Bar.

Fill to Border:  This tool is used to fill an irregular area. First, select a color to use. Next, define the area to be filled by painting its outline using this color (you may use the Brush or Line tools). Finally use this fill tool to flood all colors within the outline.

Fill with Image:  Use this tool to fill the area with material from a corresponding area of another image. Specify the filename for the other image in the field at the bottom of the editing window. Use the arrow options button to position the image used for the fill.

Replace Color:  This replaces all occurrences of a specific color with another color. First load the color which you wish to use to replace another color, then move the mouse to the editing window and click on the unwanted color in the image.

If you wish to
Flood Fill or Replace Colors a range of similar colors, rather than identically colored pixels, adjust the Color Similarity bar to the right to broaden the range of colors. Move the Color Similarity bar to the left to use fewer shades. The larger the range of colors, the longer the fill will take. Click on the red X to cancel a Fill which is in progress.

Note: When on the Objects Layer, using the Normal, Fill to Border and Fill with Image flood tools will create a movable object which may be relocated, stretched, etc.
