Rectangle Tools

This tool is used to draw rectangles. Double-click to select different rectangle styles. Begin drawing by moving the mouse to the upper left corner of the area which will contain the rectangle, then dragging the mouse to the opposite corner. Use either the left or right mouse button to draw a rectangle corresponding to the colors shown on the Mouse Indicator. Use the Intensity slider to govern the transparency of the object, and use the Shadow and Depth controls to add a drop shadow behind the object.

The
Normal Rectangle tool will produce an outline using the color of whichever mouse button is used to draw the object. Use the Options Bar options to specify outline thickness and fill style. The outline color will correspond to the mouse button you use to drag out the rectangle. The fill color will correspond to the unused mouse button (or a gradient, pattern, etc.).

The
3-D Rectangle tool produces a two-color rectangular outline which may be used to give the impression of a highlighted button. The outline uses the colors loaded on the left and right mouse buttons.

The
Rounded Rectangle tool creates rectangles which have rounded corners. Use the Options Bar options to specify outline thickness and fill style. The outline color will correspond to the mouse button you use to drag out the rectangle. The fill color will correspond to the unused mouse button (or a gradient, pattern, etc.).

The
Fuzzy Rectangle tool fades from the outline color to the fill color (or if the fill is set to Hollow at the bottom of the editing screen, the outline color will fade to the background image).

Use the
Border Rectangle tool to draw a frame using a custom brush. Click on the arrow next to Brush on the tool options bar, and choose one of the custom brushes from the list. In many instances, you may want to also checkmark the "Randomly Rotate Brush" option.
